Traci's Story

Traci first reached out on February 19, 2024, during a season of significant hardship. With her husband incarcerated, she had been the sole provider for her family. When her seven-year-old daughter, who is deaf, became seriously ill, Traci made the difficult decision to step away from work to care for her. As a result, she lost her job and quickly fell behind on rent.

We connected with Traci at the Lord’s Help Soup Kitchen, where we began working alongside her to explore options and provide support. Despite efforts to stabilize her housing, she ultimately faced eviction. During that time, our team walked closely with Traci, helping her navigate next steps and coordinating practical support to secure her belongings and temporary housing with family.

Through community relationships and local partnerships, Traci was connected with employment opportunities aligned with her experience in the healthcare field. While she briefly worked in another role to stay afloat, she remained focused on returning to her long-term career path. With persistence, she secured a position at a retirement community and began rebuilding stability.

Over time, Traci relocated to be closer to family support, obtained reliable housing, and demonstrated consistent progress. As a result of her hard work and determination, she was reunified with her daughter—a milestone that reflects both her commitment and the support of those who walked alongside her.

Today, Traci continues to stay in touch, sharing updates and encouragement. Her journey is a powerful example of resilience, reinforced by the impact of community collaboration and ongoing support from local partners.
